NOTARY PUBLIC COURES

A Notary Public is a public officer of the State of North Carolina appointed to perform acknowledgments, oaths and affirmations, and verifications. ACC offers the Notary Public and Electronic Notary (e-notary) courses. Students must hold a valid commission as a notary public in the State of North Carolina before taking the Electronic Notary course

NOTARY PUBLIC

The Notary Public course is mandated by the North Carolina Secretary of State for individuals interested in obtaining a commission as a Notary Public in North Carolina. Topics covered in class are requirements for collecting fees, general powers and limitations, oaths, and more.

Course & Textbook Info

Price for each class includes handouts and the mandatory filing fee of $1.65 per continuing education credit hour.

Property and casualty agents must have a Flood Insurance course every four years.

Everyone needs an Ethics course every two years.

ELECTRONIC NOTARY (E-NOTARY)

This class is a second-level course and you must already be a NC Notary Public to take this course. Electronic Notary is the process of applying an electronic signature and seal to an electronic document in a completely electronic and paperless transaction. This process allows a notary to affix an electronic signature and notary seal that is legally binding. Participants will learn the electronic requirements to perform notary duties legally and ethically.
