How to submit an online Expression of Interest for Year 7 - Parents

Steps for submitting an online Expression of Interest for Year 7

Moving to high school for Year 6 students EOI

  1. Parents will need to enter their child’s residential address
  2. Parents are reminded that they will have to provide proof that this is their child’s registered residential address

Local high school

  1. The local high school for that address will be displayed first. Note that some students may have more than one local high school
  2. Parents will need to confirm if the student has applied for placement at a selective high school and if they wish to apply for government schools other than their local school

Note: If a parent is not considering schools other than their child’s local school they will skip straight to the privacy agreement. They won’t need to add any other schools.

  1. Parents are then asked to agree to the standard privacy agreement, by ticking the box
  2. Then select 'proceed'

Signing-in

  1. Parents will need to sign-in using either their email address or their Service NSW details
  2. They will then need to enter the 6-digit verification code sent to their email address

Email

  1. Now that the parent has logged-in, they can commence filling in the details for the online EOI form.
If a parent has indicated they are only interested in their child attending their local high school, they will have just 3 sections: Student details; Parent/carer details; and Review & Submit.
  2. If the parent is expressing interest in any OoA schools, there will be an additional section/s to capture the Considerations for each OoA school.

OoA considerations - pilot high schools

If the parent is expressing interest in one of the high schools that are part of this pilot, there will be a list of consideration criteria.

  1. Once the box is ticked, the consideration expands to allow the parent to provide detail about why they should be considered.
These boxes have a character limit of 400 characters.

OoA considerations - non-pilot schools

  1. If the parent adds an OoA school that is not participating in the pilot, there will not be a list of consideration criteria. Instead there will just be a text box.
This is to align with the paper forms, so that when these high schools receive the pdf it will be similar experience for review.
This box will have a higher character limit of 1000 characters.

Review and submit

  1. The final step for parents is to review their answers and complete the tick-box declaration at the end.
If they were applying for OoA schools this would also be displayed in the review.

Confirmation and reference number

  1. Once the expression of interest is successfully submitted, a confirmation page with a reference number will display.

Confirmation email

  1. Parents will also receive a confirmation email
  2. If the student is only applying for their local school, this email will include:
A reference number for the EOI
  3. A password protected pdf copy of the EOI
  4. Next steps and information about the types of documents that will be required for the enrolment process.

Confirmation email expressing interest for OaA school/s

  1. A reference number for the EOI
  2. A list of the schools that have been nominated, in order of preference
  3. A password protected pdf copy of the EOI
  4. Next steps about the OoA deliberation process
